Above is a photograph of one of several
bands formed by members of local organizations in the early 1900s. This group of 12 men and a young boy made up
the band of the Harrodsburg I.O.O.F. (Independent Order of Odd Fellows),
Montgomery Lodge, Number 18. These were
prominent businessmen and civic leaders, not musicians, but people had time
then to become skilled enough to perform at concerts in the local bandstand.
