While researching the Springs of Harrodsburg, I learned that from 1809-1818, during the "off-season," Greenville Springs operated a "rope-walk" near the Mercer/ Boyle County line. A rope-walk was actually a factory that produced hemp ropes. It was a huge profit-making business.
I don't know if this is a photo from that rope-walk hemp field, but I found it interesting!
